 To The Yale Community,

I write to make you aware of two separate robberies that occurred this morning. Although the robberies were not on campus, they were nearby and the robber has not yet been arrested.

The first robbery took place at Elm and Howe Streets at approximately 11:00 AM. The victim, who is not a member of the Yale community, was approached by a man who exited a vehicle, pepper sprayed, hit and then robbed the victim. Minor physical injuries were reported.  The second robbery occurred a short time later, two blocks away, at Edgewood Avenue and Dwight Street. The two victims, who are not members of the Yale community, were approached by a man who pepper sprayed them and robbed one victim of her purse. Minor physical injuries were reported.

New Haven police are actively investigating and Yale police have increased patrols.
