To the Yale Community:

I write to let you know of an incident that occured this evening on the Canal Line at Munson Street at approximately 4:50 PM (Click here to view the incident's location). An undergraduate student was jogging alone on the Canal Line when he was approached by six to seven teenaged males. As the victim ran by the males, one of them punched him. The victim used the blue phone to call police. Minor injuries were reported and the Yale police are investigating.

If you have any information about this incident or should observe any suspicious activity, please call the Yale Police at 203-432-4400 or text your annonymous tip to 67283, begin the stream with yaletip.

As a reminder, it is important to be aware of your surroundings at all times, walk with others when possible in well-lighted areas, avoid displaying valuables, note the locationof emergency Blue Phones, and make use of security services, including shuttle services and door-to-door rides at night, by calling 203-432-9255. The Yale Police also provide services and information for victims of crimes, which you may access by calling 203-432-4400.
