To the Yale Community:

I write to let you know that a robbery occurred this afternoon on the Farmington Canal Line near Science Park at Munson Street at about 1:20 PM. (Click here to view the incident's location.) An undergraduate student was jogging on the Canal Line when he was approached by two males, one on foot and one on a bicycle, who robbed him of his iPod.  No injuries were reported and New Haven Police are investigating.

If you have any information about this incident or should observe any suspicious activity, please call the Yale Police at 203-432-4400 or text your anonymous tip to 67283, begin the stream with yaletip.

As a reminder, it is important to be aware of your surroundings at all times, walk or jog with others when possible in well-populated areas, and avoid displaying valuables.  It is also always a good idea to note the location of emergency Blue Phones along your route and make use of security services, including shuttle services and door-to-door rides at night, by calling 203-432-9255.   The Yale Police also provide services and information for victims of crimes, which you may access by calling 203-432-4400.
