To the Yale Community,

I write to let you know that tonight, at about 7:45 PM, an undergraduate student walking on College St. near Phelps Gate (Click here to view the incident's location) was approached by a man who snatched his iPhone. After a brief struggle, the man fled.

If you have any information which could aid in this investigation, please call the Yale Police at 203-432-4400.

As you know, snatching of cell phones and other electronic devices continues to be a problem, so please do not display your cell phones or other personal electronics. As always, be aware of your surroundings and contact the Yale Police to report suspicious persons or activities immediately.

This message is being sent in compliance with the requirements of the Federal Clery Act.
